Yes, the long awaited Episode 2 is finally here. I am sorry it has taken so long but between my computer problems and being sick, this was the soonest I could get it posted. I am going to put it under a cut so as not to bombard f-lists. It will be several pages long as I took 172 pictures and had to try and get rid of some of them. I didn't realize that weddings were so complicated! I would like to again thank Lord Dragonblood and Lady Darkfire of for the use of their wonderful houses and especially for the use of St. Ariella Cathedral, without which this wedding would not be possible. Anyway, without further ado, here it is......

After visiting with her mother for awhile, Paige excused herself. She needed to go upstairs to rest. Standing in her old room seemed strange after being away for so long. It seemed as though time stood still as she surveyed the room. Nothing had been moved. It was as though she had never been away.

Here is the Prologue to my first Sim Story. I have been tossing this idea around in my head for awhile and it's finally started. I hope you enjoy it. Special Thanks go out to my good friends Lady Darkfire and Lord Dragonblood at SIMplicity Lane for letting me use their beautiful houses and for all the support to get me onto this project in the first place. Thanks guys!

Detour To Destiny

It seemed like Paige had been in the car for hours. The long 600 mile trip from her home in Simcinnati was only made enjoyable by the fact that she was able to drive her old sports car with the top down. The feel of the wind in her hair and the sun on her skin was a welcome treat. She only had enough time off from her live-in nanny position to take care of personal errands. There was no time for dating, much less vacations. So when her mom called last week with the last minute news of her impending wedding to her boyfriend of 6 years, Paige immediately asked for her accrued vacation time so she could attend and serve as Maid of Honor.

As she pulled into her mother's driveway, it dawned on her that she had not been back to the tiny town of Fidelity in a long time. Three years to be exact. Growing up in the middle of nowhere was not easy for Paige or her brother Chase. She vowed that when she was old enough to leave she would find a job as far away as possible in a town where they didn't close down the stores and set all the stoplights to start blinking at 9:00 P.M. For once in her life, she wanted to see the country and hopefully have some fun in the process. Unfortunately, as she soon found out, you had to have money to have fun. She now had saved a good amount of money in her savings account but lacked the time to do anything with it. No one ever promised that life would be fair.

Paige turned off the ignition and looked over toward the house. It hadn't changed at all. Maybe a few new flowers graced the lawn that her mother kept so pristine. She just stared straight ahead for a couple of minutes while she got up the nerve to go into the house. Her dislike of her mother's fiance, Riley Jacobsen was nothing personal. It just hurt to see her mom with another man besides Paige's dad. Riley seemed like a good man and he treated Paulette like a queen so there should have been nothing for Paige to worry about.

She finally got the courage to get out of the car and as her legs hit the driveway, Paige realized that she should have stopped somewhere a lot sooner. Her legs had been in the same cramped position for almost 12 hours, minus a bathroom break or two along the way, and now it hurt to walk on them.

As she stretched her legs she gazed out over the neighborhood of familiar houses. She didn't remember the peaceful and serene atmosphere that hovered over the town. Living in a metropolis like Simcinnati there was always something going on. Noise and air pollution hung like a gray blanket over the city. Traffic was always backed up over the river going into Simtucky and rush hour was even worse. But here, none of that seemed to matter. All Paige could hear were birds chirping a happy tune and the fresh smells of earth and clean air filled her nostrils. Before she knew it, she smelled another familiar and almost forgotten scent. But she would know her mother's perfume anywhere.

She hurried across the lawn to where her mother was standing. Paige didn't know how long Paulette had been watching her, but the look on her face was confusing. Paige wasn't sure if her mom was happy to see her or about to cry. As she got closer she realized that it was a little of both. Three years had been too long to stay away. She had heard the pain in Paulette's voice each time they talked on the phone. She had almost run out of excuses for not visiting. Paige just couldn't bring herself to return to Fidelity. She had spent too much time trying to leave home to return for much more than a couple of days. Maybe a week at the most. She had too many commitments back in the city to stay longer, or so she tried to convince herself.

Paulette grabbed her and hugged her tightly and Paige hugged back just as tightly. She hadn't realized until this moment how much she missed her family. A wedding should be a happy occasion. All the feelings of mistrust toward Riley evaporated and she merely felt glad to be home.
